“Back in September 2018, I met my trainer Jean Pierre. At that time I was 160lbs, overweight for my height, and was not happy with myself. I knew I needed a change, but I didn't know how to do it on my own. With the help of my trainer, I was able to change my eating habits, learn new exercises, and was able to drop 20lbs. My confidence has changed for the good, and I've never felt better about myself in years. Thank you Jean.”

My journey is a little different from others. It all began when I made a decision to better myself on 12/1/20. I was at my heaviest weight while dealing with high blood pressure. I weighed in at 262.4 pounds and I decided I was going to take control of my health!

I sat with Jean and we discussed my goals, strengths and weaknesses. We came up with a plan to get me on the road to my goals. Jean asked me to give him one year to assist me in achieving that goal. From then on, I started training with him and it was rough, but I survived. He also gave me daily workout routines to do on our off days.

Things were going ok and I was seeing a few inches being lost more than the actual weight; At this point I had lost about 22 pounds in roughly six months.

Unfortunately, I was still having issues with my blood pressure, but I refused to be put on medication. In June of 2021, I decided to have bariatric surgery (gastric sleeve) to further assist me on my journey. I needed to lose that extra 22 pounds to be at a safer weight for surgery. By the time of surgery, I weighed 240.2.

I took two months off from training, but returned destined to meet my goals. My tool is only useful if I put in the work so training, and watching my diet was still an important part of our plan. From that time, I continued to come to the gym to challenge myself, build muscle and endurance.

Since then, I’ve lost another 58 pounds for a total of 80 pounds down. I’m still about 20-25 pounds away from my main goal, but I’m so very happy to be under 200 pounds.

I am very grateful to Jean for hanging in there with me. At times I can admit being a little difficult putting up a fight about getting out of my boundaries. However, Jean remained professional, supportive and was able to deal with my attitude (lol).

Thank you for everything.

Although my story is not a conventional one, it is my truth, and I hope it inspires someone else to strive for their goals.

“I have been in and out of the gym with mostly minor results over the last 20 years. When I turned 50 I found myself nearly 60 lbs over what I believe to be my ideal weight and seeming to feel every ache and pain from every injury I have ever had. I began training with Jean Pierre in July of 2018 and over the last six months I have lost 20 lbs, but more importantly the aches and pains are subsiding. I have become more adaptive in my training, and I find myself motivated to go to the gym and finding other ways to get fit. I contribute this success to Jean's dedication and training techniques. He is very well-versed in the way the body moves and is always introducing new workouts into my routine. While he understands I need to work a bit slower at times, he also motivates me to push through when I can.”
